Ken foberg is a professional musician and educator with extensive experience throughout the country as a director and clinician with jazz bands and concert bands at all levels.  He will work witth you and your band to improve performance, reading ability, intonation, overall musicality, and above all, attitude and motivation.  He will also consult with you on setting up a jazz program from all levels--combo to big band, improvization to jazz history, with indepth suggestions of text and music.  Ken knows how to pick music for its content, musicality and ability level...and he's availabe to help you select charts that are right for your group.  See MUSIC EDUCATION.

Ken Foberg is a professional trombonist and music educator located in North Charleston, South Carolina.  He teaches private lessons for lower brass players and currently performs with the Charleston Jazz Orchestra and other local groups.  He leads multiple Ken Foberg musical groups including a trio, quartet, quintet, sextet, brass quartet, and the Royal Garden Brass Band.  

Ken's formal music education includes a Bachelor of Music degree in Applied Trombone from the Berklee College of Music (Boston, MA) and a Master of Education degree with Special Emphasis in Music from the University of La Verne (La Verne, CA).

Professional playing credits include performing with the Boston POPS; touring with the Platters and the Glenn Miller Band; traveling with major show attractions; and performing with artists Frank Sinatra, Ray Charles, Kenny Rogers, George Burns, Milton Berle, Henry Mancini, John Williams, Rob McConnell, Phil Wilson, Brandon Fields, The Rat Pack Show in Las Vegas, George Benson, Darius Rucker, Wayne Newton, Joan Rivers, Don Rickles, Florence Henderson, Shirley Jones, and many others. 

Faculty assignments have included The University of North Carolina at Wilmington, Chaffey College, Cerritos College, Saddleback College, University of La Verne, Cal State Fullerton, Orange Coast Community College, Mt. San Antonio College, Southwestern Community College, Professional Entertainers Academy (Los Angeles), Hemet School District, Dos Pueblos High School, and Metairie Park Country Day School (New Orleans).

In addition to his teaching, Ken has been a professional trombone player, band leader, and film and television music coordinator.  His expertise includes musical theater, studio recording, solo performance, and jazz ensemble playing.  Employers have included CBS, Warner Brothers, NBC, Quinn-Martin, Glenn-Glenn Sound, Lorimar, Walt Disney Studios, Spelling-Goldberg, Glenn Miller Orchestra, The Platters, and other major producers.

The Ken Foberg Jazz Quartet
with Alva Anderson
